God, you know my heart.
You know how I want to BURST through the finish line of my time as the Children’s Pastor at Westside Church. I don’t want to limp, be carried or get passed. I want to run faster, stronger and straighter than I ever have before but I am not sure if that is even possible.
You've placed me in another race. It’s a race that not only demands my attention but also commands my heart.
Here I am running two races as fast and as faithful as I am able. I am trying my best to be obedient, strong and true to the courses that you, oh God, have placed me on. The finish line for my time at Westside is ahead. I can see it.
God help me not to slow down, let up, swerve or trip. Help me to finish well. Help me to love selflessly and lead fearlessly as my 10-year race as Children's Pastor comes to an end. At the same time, give me your wind at my back and your sun in my face as we start sprinting towards Uganda. Help me not to grow weary in well-doing or to sacrifice one good intention for another. Help me to finish strong!
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 1 Timothy 4:6-8
